- Mark is a long time NAVHDA Senior Judge who does their handler clinics. He is a member of the Buckeye Chapter and breeds and trains Pudlepointers.
Tony is a former NAVHDA Judge and trainer. He has prized 30 times in UT, 6 UT PI 204s & 2 VCs in various breeds. He has also completed Junior, Senior and Master titles on many dogs of different breeds.
This seminar will focus on understanding the scoring & judging system of both NAVHDA and AKC tests at all levels. They will cover what you can do and can't do as a handler, tips to improve your handling ability and ultimately better train/prepare and score well in tests at all levels.
???Ever wonder why your dog’s NAVHDA score was what it was? Felt frustrated that you didn’t make it through that AKC test? Or how you can turn that PIII next time to a PI? The Field Seminar during the Eastern Regional Specialty will be an outstanding opportunity to talk to two long time NAVHDA judges and an AKC hunt test professional trainer.
They will take you through the entire score card and scoring system for NA and UPT/UT explaining exactly what things the judges look at to determine a 1-4 score, what you can do as a handler to make that score higher (or lower!), the triggers that determine what Prize you get overall and answer questions. This will not only improve your skills and knowledge as a handler during the test, but add insight to your training process as you prepare your dog for these tests.
They will also review AKC hunt tests and offer the same insights. Nobody wants to hear ‘handler pick up your dog’, and knowing where you as the handler can make the difference will improve your skills.
Whether you’re new or have already tested dogs at all levels, don’t miss this opportunity to really talk to two people who can make your dog and you even more successful.
Please note, the cost has been updated to $25 couple not per person.
AWPGA has brought in two people willing to share their time at no charge.
Please support this event.
